An approachment on Tunnel Minimization in Virtual Private Network
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: A virtual private network is a network object linking two or more private networks that uses public domain infrastructure such as internet to carry traffic between different sites. This paper concentrates upon” Intranet/Extranet “type of VPN, which links an enterprise, headquarters, and remote branches to an internal network over a shared infrastructure to create an IP overlay network by IPSecurity (IPSec) tunnelling protocol. A tunnel is used to provide connectivity among different networks. This paper proposes an optimal solution to reduce the number of tunnels in VPN while ensuring connectivity and minimized cost of routing.
