Abstract: This documet summarizes a workshop held during the Cycling Research Board Annual Meeting 2025 in Amsterdam. Led by researchers from the University of Salzburg and Technical University of Dresden, the workshop explored the epistemological, methodological, and practical implications of data-driven cycling research. Key themes included the limitations and biases of various data sources (e.g., Strava, household surveys), the need for triangulation and mixed-methods approaches, and the importance of translating research into actionable planning tools. The workshop emphasized critical reflection, interdisciplinary collaboration, and open data access to foster sustainable mobility transformation.
