Ground Breaking Model for Understanding Sexual Fantasies
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article introduces the deVinery Method, a groundbreaking model of erotic intelligence developed by Artemisia de Vine. It reframes sexual fantasies not as pathology, trauma residue, or cultural byproducts, but as consciousness technology designed to navigate the paradoxes at the heart of desire. Sexual fantasies symbolically encode ego’s fear of vulnerability and provide antidotes that enable ego dissolution, altered states of consciousness, and profound intimacy. The deVinery Method identifies three universal paradoxes of desire: self versus self, self versus lover, and self versus community. By decoding the symbolic architecture of fantasies, individuals can uncover their unique erotic narrative and harness desire as a compass for awe, connection, and transformation. Unlike existing relational models, this approach begins at the engine of desire itself—mapping fantasies as precise strategies for navigating paradox. This framework makes erotic intelligence not only understandable but applicable to real-world relationships, erotic play, and emergent technologies such as AI companions, sex tech, and the intimacy economy. Originally published on Substack in January 2025, this work has been taught by Artemisia de Vine for years in workshops, trainings, and consultations.
