Dancing Machines Stochastic Choreographies and the Formalization of Imperfection: A 2-Categorical Approach for Rational Agency
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Current AI development is caught between incremental optimization and flawed biomimicry. This paper introduces a complete, self-contained framework for designing auditable, non- reducible AI systems. We first present Xeno-Architecture, a design philosophy based on forcing the genesis of novel forms by designing for hostile environments using non-analogical primitives. We then detail its core methodology, Ambition-Sourced Hostility, which compiles a strategic ambition into a testable ecology of constraints, proofs, and shocks. Finally, we introduce Dancing Machines, a 2-categorical formalism to model the dynamics of these "xeno-agents." In this model, trajectories of stochastic operators are guided by an enriched structure that formalizes trade-offs and cognitive imperfections. This unified approach provides a complete path from strategic intent to provably robust and auditable AI behavior.
