Abstract: The life and work of Villisai Vendar Pichaikutty is the topic of the study. Born in an ordinary family, Pichaikutty learned every basic text through villupattu, and explained the Silappadhikaram, Thirunavukkarasar Thondu and Kannan Dhuthu in a way that even the ordinary layman could understand, and also recorded what was song orally for political reform.
