OAIS™: An Operating System for AI-Native Computing

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence has advanced into daily use, yet its deployment remains constrained by infrastructures designed for traditional computing. Current systems rely heavily on cloud platforms, which produce three systemic limitations: dependence on external vendors, loss of data sovereignty, and an inability for AI to retain memory. Stateless architectures reduce intelligence to short-lived outputs, breaking continuity and trust.
