Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Ankle sprain can lead to chronic ankle instability. Although radiologic imaging contributes to the diagnosis, the most critical step remains a thorough physical examination and patient history. This examination is also essential for identifying risk factors for surgical failure. A rigorous and complete clinical assessment is therefore mandatory before surgical indication. In this article, we describe our complete technique for physical examination of the ankle in the prone position for chronic ankle instability evaluation.
