Abstract: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is one of the most prevalent nutritional disorders worldwide, particularly affecting infants and young children. It significantly impacts cognitive development, immunity, and overall growth. Early detection and prevention strategies are essential to reduce the long-term complications of IDA. This paper discusses the epidemiology, risk factors, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and preventive measures for iron deficiency anemia in pediatric populations. Emphasis is placed on the role of nutrition, screening programs, and public health interventions to control and prevent this widespread health problem.
