A Review: On Role of Medicinal Plants in Wound Healing

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Wound healing is a complex biological process involving hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and tissue remodeling.Medicinal plants, due to their wide spectrum of phytochemicals including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, terpenoids, and saponins, offer a safer and cost-effective alternative. Medicinal plants have been widely used in traditional medicine systems for accelerating wound healing due to their antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, antioxidant, and collagen synthesis-promoting properties. This review highlights the role of selected medicinal plants, their phytoconstituents, and mechanisms of action in wound repair.
