Inclusive Language in Spanish: Strategies and Gender Patterns Across Texts
Year: 2025
Type: conference-abstract
Abstract: This infographic analyzes the use of inclusive language in Spanish by examining data from CORPES XXI and esTenTen23. It explores how gender is represented in texts, with a focus on categories such as professions and institutional roles. The study also investigates alternative linguistic strategies—including gender double forms (alumnos/alumnas) and morphological variants such as @, -e, and -x—and compares their distribution across Spanish-speaking countries. The aim is to provide an accessible, evidence-based overview of gender-inclusive practices in contemporary Spanish.
