Abstract: In the digital age, social media platforms have become powerful agents of linguistic change. This article reviews and synthesizes the latest research (2023–2025) on how social media drives transformations in vocabulary, grammar, semantics, style, and discourse. Key mechanisms such as linguistic simplification, spreading of neologisms, register shifting, code‑mixing, and algorithmic influence are examined. The review also addresses challenges for language teaching, preservation of linguistic diversity, and future research directions.
