Abstract: To produce a high-durability red-emitting phosphor, Eu doped CaS (CaS:Eu) was crystalized. Single crystals with a <100> orientation were obtained without cracks. The internal quantum efficiency was improved using annealing treatment, exceeding that of CaS:Eu powder. The single crystals had higher moisture resistance than that of CaS:Eu powder.
