Abstract: A woman is the key to a community and the foundation of a valuable community. Tamil literature has recorded this woman in various stages. Since the time of the creation of the human race, men and women have lived together. From the Sangam period to the present day, men have lived with women in a secondary position. Even today, just as men and women are different, many crimes are committed in many places. Such crimes must be eliminated. The status of women must be elevated. The article will be a study on the status of women in Tamil literature over time and the need for the status of women to be elevated.
