Abstract: The Following Application Highlight features the use of the FLEX Transient Plane Source method in the thermal conductivity characterization of geological samples under varying saturation states. In subsurface environments, thermal conductivity plays a critical role in applications ranging from geothermal energy extraction and oil reservoir modelling to underground construction and environmental remediation. Accurate data enables engineers and scientists to predict temperature distributions, design effective heat exchange systems, and ensure the long-term stability and safety of subsurface operations.
