Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The relevance of the study is determined by the need for a systematic analysis of the evolution of Ukraine’s international security cooperation in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The article examines the development of Ukraine’s international security cooperation in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, focusing on the legal, institutional and strategic aspects of interaction with international partners. The research methodology involved the use of an interdisciplinary approach, combining the political, legal, historical, international and security aspects of the studied issues. The key stages of the transformation of Ukraine’s security policy since 2014, when after the Revolution of Dignity and the beginning of the Russian Federation’s aggression, a radical revision of defense strategies and mechanisms of international cooperation took place, are identified. The role and influence of international organizations such as NATO and the European Union in providing military, financial and political support to Ukraine is examined. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of legal acts regulating international military cooperation, including strategic defense agreements, technical arrangements, and military cooperation programs. The analysis made it possible to identify the main directions of Ukraine’s integration into the international security system, including reforming the Armed Forces, implementing NATO standards, strengthening cybersecurity, and expanding military-technical cooperation. Prospects for further research are focused on assessing the effectiveness of the implemented reforms, developing mechanisms for institutional strengthening of the defense sector, and forecasting Ukraine’s further integration into the Euro-Atlantic security space.
