Surgical Treatment of Dystrophic Cysts of the Proximal Femur

Abstract: The authors present a technique and method for the treatment of cystic formations and tumor-like diseases of the proximal femur. The fundamental difference between the developed technique and the treatment method is the preservation of the anatomical shape of the proximal femur, the use of the Ilizarov apparatus for the formation of intraosseous regeneration. The latter is able to replace significant volumes of bone cavities, and when it "matures", the proximal femur acquires mechanical strength characteristics that are not inferior to healthy bones.
