Abstract: This dataset was collected for a research project examining psychological predictors of career satisfaction. The study investigated the roles of neuroticism, extrinsic motivation, sense of mattering, and performance goal orientation, as well as the potential moderating effect of neuroticism on these relationships. A total of 184 participants (after exclusions) completed validated self-report questionnaires through an online survey hosted on Qualtrics. The dataset includes: Career Satisfaction Scale (Spurk et al., 2011) International Personality Item Pool (IPIP-NEO) Neuroticism domain Mattering Index Scale (Elliott et al., 2004) Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation Scale (extrinsic subscale) (Kuvaas et al., 2017) Performance Goal Orientation Scale (Button et al., 1996) Contents:The dataset provides anonymized participant responses, demographic information (age group, gender identity), and coded variables prepared for analysis in IBM SPSS Statistics. Reverse-coded items are included and clearly labeled. Methodology:Data were collected via online recruitment through university forums, survey-sharing platforms, and social media groups. An a priori power analysis confirmed that the final sample exceeded the required size for multiple regression with four predictors. Usage Notes:This dataset can be used to replicate the original study’s analyses, for secondary data exploration in the fields of vocational psychology, personality, and well-being, or as part of larger meta-analyses on predictors of career satisfaction. Ethics:All responses were fully anonymized prior to analysis, and participants provided informed consent before participation.
