Serpentine Activation and CO2 Mineralization: A Pathway to Sustainable Cementitious Materials
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Serpentine, a naturally occurring magnesium-rich mineral, has a significant capacity to bind carbon dioxide (CO₂). This study explores the activation and CO₂ mineralization with serpentine, investigating its potential as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM). The findings of this research could play a crucial role in assisting the cement industry in reducing its carbon footprint while promoting greater sustainability.
