Abstract: This paper aims to examine the role of the family in promoting psychosocial health in the Global South, as the family serves as a fundamental system for shaping individual personality both intrapersonally and socially while fostering mental well-being. The significance of this topic lies in families’ ability to navigate economic challenges, social and regional conflicts, and limited access to essential resources, all of which negatively impact their stability and developmental role. The study’s central question revolves around how families contribute to strengthening psychosocial health despite the economic and social challenges facing the Global South ? The key findings highlight the importance of adopting healthy parenting practices to foster a psychologically and socially balanced personality, emphasizing the family's crucial role in providing psychological and social support, particularly during crises. The study also underscores that family disintegration and internal conflicts pose a substantial threat to mental health, whereas effective family interactions and positive cultural values significantly enhance social cohesion and psychological stability. Accordingly, the study recommends the development of guidance and awareness programs targeting families to cultivate positive family dynamics and encourage psychosocial interventions that consider the cultural and social context of the Global South. Furthermore, it stresses the importance of reinforcing governmental policies that support family stability, ensuring their active contribution to sustainable development. Ultimately, this paper highlights that the family is not only a cornerstone of psychosocial health but also a key driver of sustainable development and improved quality of life in Global South societies.
