Abstract: To speed up the development of software product is the urgent matter of our country's industrialization process, and the R&D and design software is an important starting point to get rid of the "stuck neck" dilemma. In order to find out the current situation and identify the shortcomings, this paper puts forward a seven levels for software product maturity, specifically targeting the R&D and design software. The maturity model is established form four aspects of the degree of autonomy code, the product quality, the application situation and the business capability. Then through the investigation of 32 companies across 8 industries, including industrial machine, automobile, medical, household appliances, agricultural equipment, petrochemical, and electronic information, the paper studies and analyzes the market demand and the software product maturity, develops a set of evaluation indicator weight calculation methods based on the maturity model. The work of this article can provide decision-making basis for the high-quality development of domestic software and the evaluation methods can serve as a support for research in software maturity technology.
