Abstract: Fiber reinforced composites (FRCs) have emerged as pivotal materials in various industries, such as aerospace, automotive, and civil engineering, due to their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and design flexibility. However, the complex internal structure and susceptibility to damage – such as matrix cracking, fiber breakage, and delamination – pose significant challenges for their structural integrity and performance. The early detection and monitoring of damage in FRCs are paramount for ensuring safety and reliability.
