Research on AI-Driven Cutting-Edge Trends and Applications in Smart Construction Technology Innovation
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: As a vital pillar of the national economy, the construction industry is progressively transitioning to a new phase of intelligence, informatization, and greening. This paper focuses on the technological advancements of intelligent engineering construction driven by artificial intelligence, systematically reviewing AI applications in construction technology since 2000. Using CiteSpace software, keyword co-occurrence analysis, cluster analysis, and timeline analysis were conducted on relevant literature from the SSCI database within the Web of Science core collection, revealing research hotspots and future trends to guide the industry's development. The findings show that intelligent construction research from 2000 to 2025 underwent four stages: stability, growth, fluctuation, and recovery, reflecting its evolution from low attention to an academic hotspot. Hotspots concentrate on three dimensions: construction technology, project management, and industry development.Key conclusions include: BIM technology, as an innovative construction technology direction, has significantly optimized processes and enhanced design efficiency; project management emphasizes sustainable development and safety; enterprises prioritize deep integration of intelligence and informatization to advance high-quality and intelligent industry growth. A case study of a comprehensive office building project—including drawing discussions and collision checks—validates BIM's practical advantages in intelligent construction applications. This research provides directional guidance for the industry's intelligent and green transformation. Future work will deepen studies on AI-construction technology integration and innovation to offer further insights for promoting high-quality industry development.
