WealthWise: Design and Implementation of an Intelligent Android-Based Budgeting System with Expense Analytics and Forecasting Capabilities

Abstract: We present WealthWise, a smart Android-based budgeting application designed to assist students and young adults in managing their personal finances. The system promotes responsible spending habits through expense tracking, data visualization, and forecasting features. The app was developed using React Native for the front end, Next.js for backend services, and Firebase for real-time data storage and user authentication. A usability evaluation was conducted with 30 participants, whose feedback guided iterative improvements to the interface and functionality. Results indicate that users found the application intuitive, helpful, and effective in promoting financial awareness. While the current version supports only Android and requires manual data input, future enhancements such as offline access, improved security, and cross-platform compatibility are planned to broaden its impact.
