Policy Brief: Turning Chiang Mai Floods into an Economic Opportunity

Abstract: This policy brief discusses a long-standing problem in Thailand: the financial losses the Thai government has incurred in repairing the catastrophic damage caused by these floods. Wouldn’t it be better for the Thai government to find a sustainable solution instead of facing continuous losses?I discuss a proposed solution specifically for the Chiang Mai floods, which could turn this flooding into an economic gain rather than a source of losses.
