Standard Japanese names of genera in the subfamily Pteroinae (Scorpaenidae)

Abstract: Recent phylogenetic research have reconstructed generic systematics of the subfamily Pteroinae (Scorpaenidae). We proposed new standard Japanese names for Nemapterois Fowler, 1938 (Hireboshiminokasago-zoku), Neochirus Chou, Liu and Liao, 2023 (Shimahimeyamanokami-zoku) and Pteropterus Swainson, 1839 (Kimiokoze-zoku).
