Abstract: Literature is a repository that records and preserves the development and evolution of the time. People and their cultural customs are changing with the change of time. Some people are living forgetting culture. But the fact that culture and customs were highly respected and practiced in the life of our ancient Tamils is realized through the literature that emerged at that time. In this way, the Sangam literature that emerged in the 500th century BC reflects the life of the ancient Tamils. This research article aims to highlight the beliefs of the people as contained in the Kalithokya, one of the Sangam literatures.
