Abstract: Psychological assessment is a crucial component in the practice of guidance and counseling, because it provides an objective foundation for counselors in understanding psychological, emotional, and behavioral conditions. Through the assessment process, counselors can identify client problems more accurately, and design interventions that are appropriate to the client's needs. the article comprehensively discusses psychological assessments in supporting the counseling process, types of assessments that are often used in counseling practice, such as interviews, observations, questionnaires, and psychometric tests, such as personality tests, intelligence tests, and depression scales. the selection of assessment tools that can be adjusted to the goals and characteristics of the client, can accelerate guidance and counseling to be more focused and meaningful.
