Type: article
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the effect and establish the potential of using marine actinobacterial strains to enhance the adaptation processes of maize to ex vitro conditions. Materials and Methods. To adapt to non-sterile conditions, maize regenerants obtained by using in vitro culture were planted in sterile soil. Plants were inoculated with bacterial suspensions of actinobacteria strains Myt7b, Lim4, Conc4, Conc18, Conc32 (7.86×10⁶, 4.77×10⁶, 1.02×10⁶, 1.57×10⁶, 2.89×10⁶ CFU/ml, respectively) for 30 minutes. Adaptation was carried out for 10 days in a controlled environment with a gradual increase in exposure to external conditions. Results. Inoculation of maize with actinobacterial strains Myt7b, Lim4, Conc4, Conc18, and Conc32 during the adaptation stage showed higher average survival rates after 10 days: 52%, 32%, 54%, 44% and 42% more than the control, respectively. The use of Myt7b and Conc32 was the most effective in terms of shoot length and root bulk density: 11.3 cm and 13.8 cm; 0.1316 g/cm³ and 0.1703 g/cm³, respectively.
