Arabic Language Program Evaluation Based on Multiple Intelligences: The Formative-Summative Model According to Michael Scriven
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The study aims to identify variations of Arabic language program evaluation based on the multiple intelligences formative-summative model according to Michael Scriven at Markaz Arabiyah Pare, Kediri, East Java. Qualitative methods were used to collect primary and secondary data through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the evaluation of the Arabic language program refers to the formative and summative models carried out in two stages: written and oral tests, which effectively develop the linguistic, emotional, and intellectual intelligence of the santri. Data analysis uses the descriptive method proposed by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings confirmed the importance of multiple intelligences-based programs in improving learning quality and student motivation. The study recommends further exploration of the effect of evaluation methods on the development of other intelligences and the program's long-term impact on students language skills.
