The Law of Buffered Repair: Candidate Universal Principle of Balance
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This archive presents the complete research package for the Law of Buffered Repair, proposed as a candidate universal law within the emerging field of Reparodynamics — the science of repair, persistence, and long-term stability. The law states that: Repairs buffered by thresholds, cooldowns, and variance guards absorb shocks while maintaining long-run efficiency and enabling evolutionary continuity. All results were obtained using the Targeted Gradient Repair Mechanism (TGRM) harness, with simulations showing dramatic variance dampening and survival extension across stochastic, rare, and noisy environments. This principle establishes that balance is the foundation of sustainable repair — without buffering, repair becomes noise against chaos; with buffering, systems gain the ability to outlast storms. Included in this release: • Full paper (PDF) • Simulation data and results • Config and harness files for replication • Readme documentation This contribution is released freely to humanity as part of the Reparodynamics Canon, extending the framework of adaptive, layered, thresholded, and catastrophic repair toward open-ended evolutionary resilience.
