Abstract: Literature and society are closely related. The social environment and structure change and develop over time. Similarly, literature also has developmental characteristics. The term ‘society’ is used by literary scholars and the term ‘society’ by sociologists. The concepts such as class differences, caste and religious conflicts, conflicts, slavery, hegemony, economic inequality and exploitation that emerged in the society in which Chitlikiya emerged can be analyzed in terms of social change trends. Thus, although Chitlikiyas appeared in the Sangam period, the purpose of this research article is to examine the ‘social change during the Chitlikiya period’, which gained prominence after the 12th century AD.
