Abstract: The Siddhar Songs in Tamil literature hold a distinctive place in expressing spiritual, philosophical, and experiential dimensions of life. Among them, the works attributed to the Itai Kadar Siddhar present profound insights into the principles of Saiva Philosophy. This study explores the Saiva concepts embedded in these verses, foucusing on the Siddar’s perception of Svia as the Supreme Reality and the ultimate goal of human life as union with Siva. Themes such as the relationship between Pati—Pasu—Pasa(God—Soul—bond),liberation, devotion, yoga, and mystical powers are examined in detail. His songs not only highlight the philosophical depth of Saivism but also reflect the lived experience of the Siddhar tradition, where philosophy and spiritual practice merge seamlessly. Thus, this study emphasizes the significance of Saiva thought in the Itai Kadar Siddhar’s songs, underlining their contribution to Tamil Siddhar heritage and to the broader Saiva philosophical discourse.
