Indian Rural Lifestyle Inspiration and Potential for Sustainable Development
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This research explores the role of traditional rural practices in India, which can serve as a source of inspiration and a model for sustainable development. Through primary data collection from 137 respondents in Uttar Pradesh, this study assesses attitudes toward agricultural practices, water management, and energy use in rural areas. The study used a mixed methodology, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to analyze data. The study employed descriptive and applied statistics using SPSS. The results indicate that while rural India actively engages in sustainable agricultural practices such as crop rotation, rainwater harvesting, and organic farming, several constraints, such as climate change, migration, and limited resource availability, hinder the widespread adoption of these practices. The research concludes that integrating traditional rural practices with modern development frameworks can significantly enhance the sustainability of rural communities, contributing to national sustainability goals.
