Year: 2025

Type: article

Abstract: This study explores Malaysia’s “Waves of Hope” humanitarian mission to Gaza, focusing on the nation’s role in providing aid, advocating for Palestinian rights, and navigating complex geopolitical challenges. Using qualitative methods, the research analyzes reports, organizational documents, and interviews with humanitarian actors to uncover themes of solidarity, diplomacy, and resilience. Findings reveal Malaysia’s sustained commitment to humanitarian assistance through initiatives led by MERCY Malaysia, MAPIM, and governmental collaborations, despite logistical and political obstacles imposed by the Gaza blockade. The study contributes to understanding how Malaysia’s humanitarian diplomacy enhances its global reputation while reflecting the nation’s moral and political stance on international justice.
