Using OpenAlex to Explore Publication Output
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: With limited institutional data and no commercial citation index, how can a health sciences librarian working in an interdisciplinary university library explore publications and other output? OpenAlex is a free and open catalog of the world’s scholarly research system. The dashboard searches data such as works, authors, sources, and institutional profiles. An extensive list of filters is available. This presentation will introduce liaison librarian approaches and concerns to adopting this tool. It is hoped that this discussion will inspire others to try this tool in their setting.
