The Influencer's Paradox

Type: dissertation
Abstract: This paper introduces a novel game-theoretic framework that models the emergence, growth, and decay of social influence through informational resonance and coherence dynamics. In contrast to classical utility-based approaches, this model treats influence as an energetic and informational process within a dynamic social field. The Influencer’s Paradox arises from the necessity of breaking internal equilibrium (dynamostasis) to generate attention—a transition that increases informational entropy and amplifies resonance with both supportive and opposing groups. The resulting bifurcation explains how public figures, from social media influencers to politicians and artists, sustain visibility through continual tension between coherence and dispersion. We propose a mathematical formulation of this process, simulate its dynamics, and discuss implications for social stability, polarization, and ethics of public communication.
