Abstract: The current state and prospects for the transition to a credit-modular system in the development of independent learning assignments for students majoring in philology, the principles of the credit-modular system based on the best international practices of higher education institutions, recognition of students' learning outcomes, the creation of opportunities for independent formation of an educational trajectory and the introduction of academic mobility, the accumulation of grades, the interest of the professor and students in the subject, and a clearly defined grading system are substantiated.
