Abstract: The study focuses on the preservation of the Javan Hawk-eagle (Nisaetus bartelsi) due to its crucial role as a top predator in the ecosystem. Threats such as poaching and illegal trade have severely impacted the species. To counter this, rehabilitation and release efforts are undertaken at Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa. This study aims to identify and describe the rehabilitation techniques and release techniques employed for the Javan Hawk-eagle (JHE) at Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa. Qualitative descriptive methods were used for data processing, including observation, measurement, interviews, and literature studies. The rehabilitation process involves stages like transit, quarantine, training, and flight training, aimed at enhancing the eagles' health and wild behavior skills. The key factor in the rehabilitation process is providing treatment at each stage to enhance the eagle's health conditions and train its ability to behave in the wild. Release techniques include assessing readiness, selecting habitats, constructing habituation cages, translocating, habituating, releasing, and monitoring post-release. Behavioral assessments during training determine eligibility for release, ensuring only eagles demonstrating good health and wild behavior adaptation are realesed into their natural habitat.
