How Humans Make Meaning - From "I AM" to Predictive Brains, Public Timers, and Shared Return

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper proposes a practical, cross-tradition architecture for attention, learning, and communal action built on a simple three-move geometry: reduce → resonate → return. It grounds identity in the classical insight “I AM THAT I AM” (Exod 3:14) and reads Logos as logic and word—the personal coherence in which “all things hold together.” Cognitively, the model integrates anticipatory systems and predictive processing (fast intuition, slow logical seal). Socially, it shows how public timing (bells, hours, release cycles) functions as a phase signal that stabilizes groups. Physically, it borrows the intuitions of coupled oscillators, invariants, and renormalization to explain how coherence persists without central control. Practically, it assembles a “desert toolkit” from monastic, Buddhist, Sufi, Taoist, and neuroscience sources (reduction of inputs; resonance across multiple frames; return via concrete service/publication) and adds an Ethics of Coherence (naming, mercy, provenance, continuity). The paper concludes with a calibration law (daily/weekly/seasonal/annual rhythms), a minimal attribution-first workflow, a testable research agenda, and limits that honor doctrinal differences while preserving shared practice. The contribution is a portable, attribution-rich method any individual or team can run to turn complexity into shared clarity—logic as slowed intuition, truth as communal resonance, and justice as the sharing of what is learned.
