Real – Time Morse Code Translator Using Eye Blinks

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Project Title: Real-Time Morse Code Translator using Eye Blinks Project Description: The Real-Time Morse Code Translator using Eye Blinks is an assistive communication system designed for individuals with speech or motor impairments. The system uses eye blinks as input signals, which are translated into Morse code and then converted into readable text in real-time. The main goal of the project is to enable communication for users who cannot use traditional input devices. By detecting blink patterns corresponding to dots (short blink) and dashes (long blink), the system accurately converts sequences into letters, words, and sentences. Key features of the project include: Eye Blink Detection: Detects user blinks via a front-end interface. Differentiates between short blinks (dot) and long blinks (dash). Real-Time Morse Code Translation: Converts blink sequences into Morse code symbols. Instantly translates Morse code into English text. Real-Time Communication: Uses WebSockets for live transmission of blink signals to the backend. Ensures immediate conversion and display of text without delays. User-Friendly Interface: Built with React, providing an interactive front-end for displaying translated text. Allows optional text-to-speech output for better accessibility. Backend & Data Handling: Managed using Django REST Framework, handling user sessions, translation logic, and real-time communication. Technologies Used: Frontend: React.js Backend: Django REST Framework (DRF) Real-Time Communication: WebSockets Processing Logic: Morse code translation based on blink duration (dot/dash) Output: Text display and optional audio output
