From Substance to Interaction: A Quantum Interpretation Based on an Interaction-First Approach

Abstract: The measurement problem in quantum mechanics and the apparent conflict between quantum nonlocality and relativistic causality stem from attempts to describe the "intrinsic properties of independent entities." This paper proposes a methodological paradigm shift: physics should abandon the quest for "intrinsic properties" and instead treat the "external manifestations of dynamic interactions between systems" as its complete subject of study. Based on this, we construct the "Causal-Interaction Interpretation." Within this framework, the wave function is interpreted as a complete description of potential interactive possibilities, while wave function collapse is reconceptualized as a causal process of interactive actualization. We demonstrate that by focusing on the analysis of interaction processes themselves, this interpretation naturally resolves the measurement problem and explains quantum nonlocal correlations as manifestations of logical constraints established through historical interactions during local measurements. This approach denies any form of action-at-a-distance while achieving reconciliation with relativistic causality. Furthermore, the framework provides a clear ontological interpretation for indefinite causality in frontier experiments like the quantum switch, reframing it as a quantum superposition of causal interaction histories.
