LINEAR PROPERTY OF lnZ(μ,V,T): AN ANALYSIS FROM THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF STATISTICAL MECHANICS
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The basic postulates of statistical mechanics and the ensemble theory, especially, the grand canonical properties are reviewed in a concise way. Division of a grand canonical system into a finite number of sub-systems of equal volume shows that the natural logarithm of the grand canonical partition function is linear in , the volume of the grand canonical system under consideration. We do this from the basic knowledge of statistical mechanics and then conclude with statistical interpretation.
