Abstract: IntroductIonMusculoskeletal pain is a common condition that can limit mobility and decrease quality of life.Traditional treatments include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), physical therapy, and topical pain relievers. However, cold and heat therapies are often used as nondrug alternative options.Chronic pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a common condition that often causes myofascial pain in dental clinics. 1 Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is not a single diagnosis but rather a general term that covers several conditions. These conditions can include pain in the muscles used for chewing and in the TMJs, headaches, and problems with jaw movement and joint sounds when opening and closing the mouth.[2][3][4][5] The main symptoms of this acute condition are pain and swelling, which are usually treated with anti-inflammatory medications and opioids.[6][7][8][9][10] However, some research suggests that chronic pain in the neuromuscular system, which controls chewing function, can adapt to changing conditions. As a result, it might be best to address it with natural compounds. One such compound is cannabidiol (CBD), and researchers are looking into its potential therapeutic benefits for dentistry.[11][12][13][14][15] About 33% of people experience myofascial pain in their chewing muscles, which can cause temporomandibular dysfunction and affect nearby muscles. This influences their lifestyle and may lead to social and psychological challenges.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22] Problems like this can be managed by combining medications such as painkillers and analgesics with anxiolytics to
