Abstract: Group dynamics is a social process by which people interact in small groups they share a common objective or a goal and they collectively work towards achievement of the goal. The main purpose of the research was to investigate the impact of group dynamics on team effectiveness in Dire Dawa Transport and Logistic Bureau. Effective group dynamics is essential for success of any organization. The research was designed as correlational research design which investigates the relation of group dynamics determinants i.e. group forming, group storming, group norm, and group performing with the effectiveness of the team. In the research quantitative approach was conducted via a structured questionnaire with 5 point Linkert Scale. Descriptive statistics was computed whereby frequencies, and percentages was computed to analyze the respondent profile, median was also computed to see the central tendency of the variables. inter-quartile range (IQR) were seen for the spread of the data. In order to draw conclusions, Correlation analysis were carried out to test each stated hypothesis. The reliability measurement was conduct through Cronbach’s alpha value to see the internal consistency of the variables. The findings show that how groups are formed, storming within a group, norms within a group, and how groups are performed in Dire Dawa Transport and Logistic Bureau have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the team. Dire Dawa Transport and Logistic Bureau should understand and encourage the importance of characteristics and management of the individuals, beside with formation of the groups by those individuals, and their interactions within the groups.
