La Quarta Via riformulata: dal lavoro su sé alla pedagogia vibroacustica del Metodo Bottin

Abstract: This paper reinterprets G.I. Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way through the lens of contemporary educational practice, proposing the Bottin Method as a pedagogical evolution of the traditional “work on oneself.” By integrating vibroacoustic experience as a medium for self-regulation and embodied learning, the Bottin Method transforms the esoteric pursuit of balance among body, emotion, and intellect into an accessible, measurable educational process. Recent studies in vibroacoustic therapy confirm its potential to reduce stress, enhance body awareness, and improve affective regulation—findings that support this pedagogical model. The approach replaces asceticism with sensory coherence: vibration becomes language, resonance becomes cognition. The result is a laic Fourth Way, a living pedagogy that allows learners to achieve presence, coherence, and emotional self-mastery through the dynamic interplay of sound and perception. Riassunto (IT)La tradizione della Quarta Via di G.I. Gurdjieff integra corpo, emozione e mente. Il Metodo Bottin ne rinnova i principi in chiave pedagogica vibroacustica, orientata all’autoregolazione incarnata. La vibrazione sonora, come medium educativo, favorisce coerenza sensoriale e apprendimento esperienziale. Studi recenti di vibroacustica indicano effetti su stress, consapevolezza corporea e regolazione affettiva, fornendo supporto empirico al modello. Il risultato è una “Quarta Via laica”: presenza, coerenza ed efficacia formativa misurabile.
