A.I in Wildlife Conservation : Technical Paradigms, Ethical Constraints, and the Path to Scalable Biodiversity Monitoring
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) has emerged as a transformative tool in wildlife conservation, enabling efficient monitoring, data analysis, and protection of biodiversity at unprecedented scales. Through technologies such as computer vision, drones, acoustic sensors, and predictive modeling, A.I. assists researchers in tracking animal populations, identifying species, and detecting illegal activities like poaching or deforestation. These advanced systems not only improve accuracy and speed but also reduce human intervention in sensitive ecosystems. However, the integration of A.I. raises ethical challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the potential misuse of surveillance technologies. Balancing innovation with ethical responsibility is crucial to ensure that technological progress aligns with ecological and social values. This paper explores the technical paradigms driving A.I.-based conservation, discusses the ethical constraints involved, and proposes strategies for creating scalable, transparent, and sustainable biodiversity monitoring systems that can safeguard our planet’s natural heritage for future generations. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Wildlife Conservation, Deep Learning, Ethics, Biodiversity, Sustainability. This research aims to bridge the gap between AI innovation and ecological ethics to achieve long-term sustainability.
