Beyond Self-Advocacy: Sustained, Equitable Support for First-Generation Low-Income Students
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Chelsea’s essay critiques universities that champion diversity in their admissions processes while failing to provide adequate structural support once students arrive. Instead of positioning FLI students as exceptional cases of triumph, Chelsea argues that universities must establish policies and resources that integrate them into campus life as full and equal participants.
