Abstract: Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia and the diplomatic hub of Africa, is currently grappling with numerous urban development challenges. Akaki Kality Sub-City is similarly affected by these issues. This study explores the comfort and satisfaction levels of users in urban public spaces, drawing on user satisfaction surveys and insights from existing literature on public open spaces. The research employs both content and descriptive analysis methods to evaluate user satisfaction with public space infrastructure. Key variables considered in assessing satisfaction include design quality, availability of toilets, parking, seating, transportation access, and landscape integration with activity zones. Using descriptive statistics to analyze satisfaction levels, the study found that a significant majority 92.2% of users were dissatisfied with public spaces in Woreda 02 of Akaki Kality, while only 7.8% expressed satisfaction with the urban space design. Overall, the findings highlight the urgent need for improved design quality, upgrades to current infrastructure, and greater attention from responsible authorities to enhance public space usability.
