Bi-Topological Dynamics for Certifiable AI: The L'Var Spring in AlphaFold and AlphaGo

Type: article
Abstract: Bi-Topological Dynamics for Certifiable AI: The L’Var Spring in AlphaFold and AlphaGo formalizes how a single dynamical engine—the L’Var Spring—upgrades state-of-the-art AI from heuristic stability to provably convergent behavior. The Spring runs on two compatible, inequivalent topologies over the same state space: a smooth (Archimedean) regime \tau_\infty that performs curvature-aware energy descent via the damped Riemannian Newton Law, and an ultrametric \tau_p regime that enforces strict hierarchical contraction. A single iteration map L contracts in both metrics, yielding dual-certified convergence to a unique, verifiable fixed point and excluding mixed-mode failure (no continuous runaway, no discrete oscillation). The paper embeds this engine into AlphaFold and AlphaGo. For AlphaFold, \tau_\infty handles geodesic refinement while \tau_p captures decisive conformational “snaps,” delivering terminal folding states with certificates derived from monotone energy decay and finite hierarchy switches. For AlphaGo, \tau_\infty provides curvature-aware policy/value optimization while \tau_p yields a branch-commit mechanism that prevents policy thrash and stabilizes the principal variation. The Category L’{\rm VarSpring} ensures compositional safety: certified subsystems coupled via algebraic pullbacks preserve global stability and convergence. The work specifies measurable KPIs (e.g., improved GDT/lDDT and reflow rates in folding; reduced branch flips and faster Elo plateau in planning) to operationalize falsification and validation. Keywords: Bi-topological dynamics; Riemannian Newton Law; ultrametric contraction; compositional verification; AlphaFold; AlphaGo; certified convergence; categorical pullbacks.
