Long Term Evaluation of Dental Implant Success Planned via Static and Dynamic Guidance

Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: This thesis presents a long-term clinical and radiographic evaluation of dental implants placed using both static guide-assisted and dynamic computer-guided surgical techniques. The study assesses and compares implant success rates, placement accuracy, and long-term stability between the two digital planning systems, including applications of dynamic navigation, virtual guides, and computer-aided implantology. Clinical outcomes were analyzed based on prosthetic success, marginal bone level changes, and biological and technical complication rates over several years of follow-up. The findings highlight the importance of proper case selection, accurate digital planning, surgical execution, and workflow optimization in achieving successful long-term implant outcomes. This thesis was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the MSc in Oral Implantology and Periodontology at the DTMD – University for Digital Technologies in Medicine and Dentistry, Luxembourg, by Dr. Ekin Can Yapıcı, DDS, MSc – Head of ADENT Dental Clinic, Adana, Turkey, Specialist in Implantology and Esthetic Dentistry. Funding: This research was self-funded by ADENT Dental Clinic, Adana, Turkey. Keywords: dental implants, computer-guided surgery, dynamic navigation, static guide-assisted surgery, guided implantology, virtual guide, immediate loading, dental implant planning, clinical outcomes, long-term follow-up.
